When our clients purchased their dream home just outside of NYC, they envisioned a space where they could lay the foundation for a growing family. The home, originally designed by an architect over 20 years ago, featured great bones but required a complete cosmetic transformation to reflect their modern lifestyle.

Our goal was to preserve the home’s original space planning and functionality while creating a sleek yet warm design that embodied Scandinavian luxe aesthetics, paired with everyday practicality. We focused on crafting a sophisticated yet inviting environment, tailored to suit our clients' unique needs as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

This stunning Scandinavian-inspired living space showcases a harmonious blend of minimalism and functionality. Floating entryway stairs serve as a striking architectural feature, while statement lighting adds a touch of modern sophistication. Clean lines, natural materials, and an airy aesthetic make this space a serene and inviting retreat.

The Design Approach

This stunning modern kitchen featuring a luxurious white fantasy marble island and backsplash, perfectly paired with sleek solid grey cabinetry. The centerpiece stainless steel gas range and hood bring both style and functionality, while black and white vases with greenery add a natural touch. This kitchen is the epitome of elegance and practicality, making it a dream space for culinary creativity.

Kitchen

The kitchen became the focal point of the renovation, where we worked closely with our clients to select a bold yet timeless statement piece for the backsplash. They wanted something more refined than the typical tiled backsplash, so we chose White Fantasy Marble, sourced from New York Stone, for both the backsplash and countertops. This luxurious marble with intricate veining brings a sense of elegance to the entire space.

We incorporated solid grey cabinetry to maintain sleekness and modernity, while contrasting white oak bottom cabinets added warmth and texture to balance the design. A hidden pantry, designed with tall cabinet doors that seamlessly blend into the kitchen, was another functional yet aesthetically pleasing element.

Powder Room

In the powder room, we drew inspiration from the natural surroundings of the home—its outdoor rocky landscape. To bring that feeling inside, we used black walls and floor tiles that evoke an earthy, stone-like quality. The oversized wall tiles enhance the luxury of the space while complementing the rawness of the natural stone.

For the custom vanity top and shower portal, we selected Calacatta Viola Marble, which brings rich maroon hues and organic textures to the design. The deep, earthy tones of the marble are softened by our signature lime wall paint, providing a harmonious balance that creates a welcoming and grounded atmosphere.

Guest Bathroom

In the guest bathroom, we embraced a minimalistic, tone-on-tone design using oversized wall and floor tiles to create a serene, uncluttered space. The large format tiles contribute to a calm and continuous flow throughout the room. To complement the 12-foot-high ceilings, we chose oval-shaped mirrors by Norm Architects, designed specifically for Scandinavian-inspired spaces. These tall mirrors not only enhance the room’s height but also provide a sophisticated focal point.
